Carmen Carson

Born and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee to William Summey, Sr. and the late Sandra Summey, Carmen attended UT Chattanooga as a Brock Scholar. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Human Ecology Child and Family Studies in 2003. She went on to earn a Master of Arts in Instructional Leadership from Tennessee Technological University in 2007. Initially Carmen’s career blossomed in early childhood education as a teacher. In recognition of her skills, Carmen became a math coach and spent time training teachers as well as students. She then served first-generation and low-income students in college and in area high schools through the federally funded TRIO programs (Student Support Services and Educational Talent Search) at UT Chattanooga. In addition to this work, Carmen has spearheaded the launch of educational companies, coordinated the services for area youth programs, served as a conservator for adults with disabilities, and led the branding and websites design process for small companies. Her passion for helping others access education and live incredible lives led her to study life coaching at Light University. In January 2015, Carmen launched FAVORDD, a creative agency designed to serve the life and business challenges of leaders, online entrepreneurs, and nonprofits through coaching, branding, design, and other creative strategies. Over the past year, her work has focused on empowering the lives and businesses of women leaders and entrepreneurs as they learn to grow their personal brands, align their lives for greater flow, and position for new opportunities and ongoing success. By leveraging social media and online technologies, Carmen has built a business that reaches individuals all across the country, from Portland to Maryland, from Florida to Texas. Carmen is know for teaching others to live #lifeincredibly everyday with gratitude and intention. Carmen is a recent graduate of Leadership Chattanooga, class of 2016. Yet, out of all of her endeavors and experiences, none exceeds the joy and peace that is hers through her marriage of nine years to Antoine Carson. In their free time, Carmen and Antoine enjoy traveling, reading, dining out, and entertaining friends.
