Cynthia Kane

Living at and writing from the intersection of three worlds: the ministry, the military, and motherhood.

The Reverend Cynthia Kane, an ordained Unitarian Universalist minister, has been serving on active duty in the US Navy Chaplain Corps since 2001.

Rev. Kane holds a B.A. from Newcomb College of Tulane University (1989), an M.Div. from Harvard Divinity School (1996), and M.A. in Peace and Justice Studies from University of San Diego (2013). Her honors include a USMC Tan Belt, the Harvard Divinity School Distinguished Alumni First Decade Award (2004), and being among the University of San Diego’s Women of Impact (2012).

Outside the ministry and military, Cynthia is a musician, fitness enthusiast (completing the Boston and Marine Corps Marathon), a nascent landscape designer, and improv comedy aficionado. Her greatest achievements are her marriage, the birth of her child, and the ongoing navigation of motherhood.
