Cynthia Kounaris
Executive Director, Women Ecommerce Execs
Cynthia Kounaris is co-founder and Executive Director of the grassroots Women Ecommerce Execs organization, created to provide networking, education and growth opportunities for women in ecommerce.
Cynthia’s paying job is Chief Resource Officer at FitForCommerce, a boutique ecommerce consultancy. She manages organizational development and resourcing, overseeing all aspects of FitForCommerce recruiting, both internal and for clients, and leads other key organizational initiatives. Cynthia is a former vice president of the Las Olas Association in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where, until recently, she owned a successful retail bridal store.
Previously, as general manager of internet start-up INS Greencard, she managed all aspects of the business, technology and organization. Prior to ecommerce and retail, Cynthia managed many departments and projects to develop complex trading systems as a senior executive with over 15 years in Wall Street technology at Barclay’s Capital, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and Salomon Brothers.
Cynthia graduated from Bates College with a BA in French.
