Dan “Chizi,” was raised in Nairobi, Kenya. Dan grew up as an actor and songwriter, where he won two Kisima Awards in 2008 for his song Shamba La Wanyama, for Best Urban Male Artist and Songwriter of The Year. In July 2010, Dan released his second album Benganology just two days after the defense of his undergraduate thesis at the University of Nairobi. Previously, Dan was the Project manager at the Nairobi Chapel Events secretariat before moving on to be a radio producer and presenter at Baraka FM. He also worked as a copywriter for the PEPFAR behavioral change video game and as an architect before starting his own media production company called The African Bonfire.
