Dan Fink has lived off the grid, 11 miles from the nearest power line, since 1991 and has been professionally installing renewable energy systems since 1994. He is co-author of the book Homebrew Wind Power, and a frequent contributor for Home Power Magazine and others. He is also a professor of Solar Energy Technology at the Ecotech Institute in Aurora, Colorado.
