Dan Urman

Contributor, OZY

Dan Urman was born and raised in the rough and tumble streets of Palo Alto, CA. In his early teens, he used the family Sony Handicam to launch James Franco’s acting career. Dan has degrees from UCLA, Oxford, and Harvard, and served as a corporate attorney, state prosecutor, and educator. He enjoys teaching, discussing, and debating law and policy issues (even when the audience isn’t listening). Most importantly, Dan is James Dylan and Shelby Rose Urman’s dada and Kate Urman’s husband. He cheers for the Red Sox and Patriots to ensure domestic tranquility.

He is a faculty member and Director of the Doctor of Law & Policy Program at Northeastern University in Boston.
