Chicano author of fiction, poetry, essays and book reviews
Daniel A. Olivas is the author of seven books including the award-winning novel, The Book of Want (University of Arizona Press), and Things We Do Not Talk About: Exploring Latino/a Literature through Essays and Interviews (San Diego State University Press). He is editor of the landmark anthology, Latinos in Lotusland (Bilingual Press), which brings together 60 years of Los Angeles fiction by Latino/a writers. Olivas has written for many publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Review of Books, El Paso Times, Los Angeles Times, High Country News, Jewish Journal, California Lawyer, among others. He earned his degree in English literature from Stanford University, and law degree from UCLA. Olivas shares blogging duties at La Bloga which is dedicated to covering Latino/a literature.
