Daniel Cherrin
Public relations and affairs specialist; former Communications Director for the City of Detroit

Daniel Cherrin is an attorney with Fraser Trebilcock, practicing public affairs and strategic communications. With 15 years of experience providing senior public relations and government relation’s counsel to corporations, not-for-profits and individual clients on state and federal regulatory and legislative matters, as well as issues affecting corporate and individual reputation, crisis management and the media.

He blends his legal expertise and litigation experience with deep public policy insight and strategic communications capabilities for clients in the public eye. Daniel has provided strategic communications and public affairs consulting to Fortune 500 as well as start-up businesses, non-profit organizations and government entities including: America's largest daily newspaper, one of the busiest border crossings in North America, Canada's 11th largest university, the nation's largest single-campus medical school and one of the top ten largest art fairs in America, among others.

In 2008, Cherrin was appointed by Detroit's 61st Mayor, Kenneth V. Cockrel Jr., as the communications director and press secretary for the City of Detroit. He also is a partner with M10 Marketing, a mobile media company.

Daniel also is a certified mediator and focuses on multi-party and public policy related disputes. He is married, with three children and a board member of the MS Society of Michigan, the Urban League of Southeastern Michigan, the Michigan Political Leadership Program and an elected member of the State Bar of Michigan’s Representative Assembly.
