New York based actor, writer, director and activist

David Duchovny is a New York based actor, writer, director, and activist focused on climate change, marine conservation, and animal welfare.

Among an extensive list of television and film credits, David starred in Fox Television’s international hit “The X-Files,” where he was nominated for an Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series and won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series. He has been nominated for a total of three Golden Globes, three Screen Actors Guild and a TV Critic’s Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series.

In David’s other long running series CALIFORNICATION, he won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a comedy series. He was also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a comedy series for his appearances on THE LARRY SANDERS SHOW.

More recently, David Executive Produced and starred in the NBC series AQUARIUS.

David added the role of director to his list of accomplishments when he wrote, directed and starred in three critically acclaimed episodes of THE X-FILES. He made his feature directorial debut in 2005 with HOUSE OF D, which he also wrote and appeared in. Other directing credits include the Fox series BONES and 6 episodes of CALIFORNICATION.

David ventured onto the stage starring off Broadway in Neil LaBute’s play BREAK OF NOON in which he reunited with his X-FILES: I WANT TO BELIEVE co star Amanda Peet.

His first novel HOLY COW was released by Farrar Straus and Giroux in February 2015 and hit the New York Times Best Sellers list, while his second critically acclaimed novel BUCKY F*CKING DENT was released on April 5, 2016.

David currently sits on the advisory board of Target Zero, a nonprofit organization that mentors shelter and animal welfare leaders, city by city, to get to zero kill of all adoptable shelter animals.

Born and raised in New York City, David attended Princeton University and received his Masters Degree in English Literature from Yale. He received his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame earlier this year.
