Prof. David Mednicoff

School of Public Policy and Director of Middle Eastern Studies, UMass-Amherst

Prof. Mednicoff is an expert on contemporary Middle Eastern law and politics, international law, and US foreign policy. He holds a BA in Public and International Affairs from Princeton and a law degree (JD), Master's degree, and Ph.D. (Political Science) from Harvard. He has had the good fortune to live, and get to know people well, throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, including two stints as a Fulbright Scholar. He is proud to teach students from a wide range of backgrounds at a wonderful, unionized public flagship university. He believes in public outreach and open-minded discussion on important contemporary issues, especially issues related to his research on law, politics and religion in North Africa and Arab Gulf countries.
