Dee-1, New Orleans native and former middle school teacher turned hip-hop artist penned his viral hit song, “Sallie Mae Back” after paying back his student loans. He’s since partnered with Sallie Mae—the nation’s saving, planning, and paying for college company— to educate students on financial responsibility and the importance of planning for college. His new album will be released in 2017.
