E. Kay Trimberger

Sociologist E. Kay Trimberger is professor emerita of women’s and gender studies at Sonoma State University, and an affiliated scholar at the Institute for the Study of Social Issues at UC Berkeley. Her most recent book, The New Single Woman, was published by Beacon Press in fall 2005. She is at work on an analytic memoir tentatively entitled Creole Son: An Adoptive Mother’s Story of Nature and Nurture. The memoir will include the use of research in biology, psychology, sociology and adoption studies that helps her understand her experience.
