I am an artist who specializes in the intersection of art, science and neurotechnology.

I am an artist and former lawyer living in the San Francisco Bay Area. My artwork lives at the intersection of science, art and technology. I focus on brain scans, particularly MRIs, because I consider them one of the primary symbols of Multiple Sclerosis. When I was diagnosed with MS many years ago, I underwent numerous brain scans to track the progression of my disease and initiated a deep fascination with the architecture of the brain. I began focusing my art practice on reinterpreting these frightening yet mesmerizing images. Reclaiming my MRIs through printmaking, color, and the elements of design disrupts the unsightliness of these digital images and allows a view of the brain that combines beauty and complexity. I have been inspired by the power artwork can have to broaden and deepen the narrative around chronic illness. This is my core mission, to create artwork that invites social engagement and encourages conversations. My current vision combines patient-centered design strategies, evocative artwork, and powerful narratives. My studio assistant Catherine Monahon and I have begun co-writing a series of articles that focus specifically on how creative, innovative people are changing the landscape of healthcare.
