Elaine Treharne

Professor of Early English Literature and Text Technologies, Stanford University

Elaine Treharne is a Welsh academic living in Stanford. She is a Professor of Early English Literature and Text Technologies, and her principal focus is medieval manuscripts from c. 900 to 1250, and the history of textual production. She has published some two-dozen books on Old and Middle English, including most recently, Living Through Conquest: The Politics of Early English (OUP, 2012).

She is a Fellow of the Society of Antiquaries and the Royal Historical Society, and a Trustee of the English Association.
