Author, 'Gift of Peace: The Jimmy Carter Story'
Elizabeth Raum has written dozens of educational books on a variety of topics for young readers, including biographies, American history, arts and culture, and social science. She’s also published two picture books: "Follow That Star" and "Cedric and the Dragon." Additionally, Raum wrote the critically acclaimed adult biography on Dietrich Bonhoeffer, "Dietrich Bonhoeffer: Called by God."
This year she authored the inspirational biography of President Jimmy Carter, "Gift of Peace: The Jimmy Carter Story" (Zonderkidz; $6.99; September 2011), in stores this month.
She also works as an adjunct reference librarian at Grand Rapids Community College in Grand Rapids, Mich.
A mother of two grown sons, Elizabeth lives with her husband in Grand Rapids.
