Gabriel Blau

LGBTQ Activist

Gabriel Blau is a nationally acclaimed LGBTQ leader and activist. He served as the Executive Director of the Family Equality Council, a national organization advocating for and connecting LGBTQ families, and was a member of the senior team at New York's CBST, the world's largest LGBTQ synagogue. Gabriel is a member of the boards of The LGBT Religious Archives Network and Love Comes First. A long time activist and teacher in the LGBT and Jewish communities, Gabriel has spoken and taught around the country and in Israel, including at Machon Schechter in Jerusalem, Yale University, Columbia Univsersity, and the Rothko Chapel in Houston, TX. Gabriel was named one of the 40 Under 40 by The Advocate. He has represented LGBTQ issues on television, radio, and in writing. Gabriel lives in New York City with his husband, Dylan Stein, and their son. He currently consults for organizations serving LGBTQ and other populations.
