Operations & Communications Coordinator, 100km Foods

Genrys Goodchild was born and raised in Toronto, Ontario. Genrys has always been drawn to communications and the arts, going to Etobicoke School of the Arts to study theatre for four years. Upon leaving high school, she and her best friend moved to Dublin, Ireland, where she lived for the better part of a year before spending three months wwoofing on a horse farm in Skyros, Greece.

Upon her return to Canada, Genrys attended Trent University, earning a bachelors degree in International Development Studies. Genrys credits her amazing, immersive experience at Trent for widening her worldview and fostering a critical perspective on issues of development, social justice and climate.

Genrys now works at 100km Foods in Toronto as operations & communications coordinator, managing their website, email campaigns, blog and various social media platforms. 100km Foods is a local food distributor picking up produce, dairy, and cured meats from small to mid-sized farms in the GTA, and selling wholesale to restaurants in Toronto and the GTA. It’s a fantastic role that has allowed Genrys to merge her love of writing and communications with a company whose core values she shares.

In her spare time, Genrys loves reading, writing, riding horses and camping.
