Gideon Yago spent seven years as a producer and correspondent for MTV News and CBS News. He has won numerous awards for his work on television including an Edward R. Murrow Award for his coverage of the Iraq War, the George Foster Peabody Award for MTV's Fight For Your Rights: Sexual Health campaign, an Emmy Award for his coverage of the 2004 election and an Emmy nomination for his work covering the 2005 earthquake in Pakistan.

His writing has appeared in Spin and Rolling Stone and on NPR's This American Life. His 2004 article "No War For Heavy Metal" was the basis for Vice Film's 2007 feature documentary Heavy Metal In Baghdad. He is a graduate of Columbia University; he lives in New York and is a screenwriter.
