Gina Messina-Dysert

Professor; feminist; theologian; writer; activist

Gina Messina, Ph.D., is Assistant Professor of Religion and Gender Studies at Ursuline College and Co-founder of FeminismAndReligion.com. She earned her doctorate degree at Claremont Graduate University in women's studies and religion and is the author of Rape Culture and Spiritual Violence (Routledge, 2014) and co-editor of Feminism and Religion in the 21st Century (Routledge, 2014) and the highly acclaimed Faithfully Feminist (White Cloud, 2015). Gina is a widely sought after speaker and has presented across the U.S. at universities, organizations, conferences, and in the national news circuit including appearances on Tavis Smiley and MSNBC. She took to the TEDx Stage to deliver her talk "The New Feminist Revolution in Religion" and has also spoken at the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations to discuss matters impacting the lives women around the globe.
