Heidi Shink is a community leader with more than thirty years advocating for LGBTQ, women, social justice, animal welfare, and environmental rights. For her years of service, United States Congressman Adam Schiff (D-CA) honored Heidi with his district’s Congressional “Women of the Year” Award. Heidi served as a Planning Commissioner for the City of West Hollywood after having completed a long tenure on the City’s Human Services Commission; Vice President of Communications for the Stonewall Democratic Club; Advocacy Board member for the National Council of Jewish Women; Community Funding Board Member for Liberty Hill; Secretary for the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills Democratic Club ; Advisory Council member for Emerge California ; and Campaign Board member for the Victory Fund. Heidi was elected delegate to the California Democratic State Party and sat on its vital Platform Committee. A well- respected organizer, Heidi works tirelessly on behalf of Women’s Cancers and HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention, is a strong supporter for the aging and immigrant populations, and acts daily to promote affordable housing and renters rights. In addition to her political life, Heidi has an eclectic professional career. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from New York University, she landed a major label deal on Geffen Records with her band, Ceremony. As co-lead singer, with Chaz Bono, she performed for audiences around the world. After a decade with the band, Heidi became Senior Producer at the E! Entertainment Network, where she wrote and directed their hit “Biography” series while developing the first incarnation of E! on-line. She used her Social Media expertise to launch Cher.com, which quickly became one of the most profitable celebrity e-commerce sites on the web. Heidi then turned her talents to writing full time and co-authored the critically acclaimed health book, 3 Minutes to a Pain-Free Life (Simon & Schuster, 2008) and the groundbreaking wine guide, Wineocology (Globe Pequot Press, 2013). A political consultant and speechwriter, seminar presenter, and candidate trainer, Heidi hosted the “Shink Tank” on CBS/LATALKLIVE radio and is a writer for the Huffington Post.
