Hermona Soreq

Professor of Molecular Neuroscience, The Hebrew University’s Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences

Hermona Soreq is the Charlotte Schlesinger Professor of Molecular Neuroscience at The Hebrew University’s Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences. A leader in brain-to-body signaling, stress reactions and neurodegenerative diseases, she has written 260 articles, seven books, and 12 patents with two recombinant proteins and one DNA-based drug at different stages of clinical trials.

The first elected woman to be Dean of The Hebrew University's Faculty of Science (2005-2008), she now devotes most of her time to her own research and consults for several national and international committees. Dr. Soreq was awarded honorary Ph.D.s at Stockholm, Erlangen and Beer-Sheva and received Landau, Teva and Humboldt research prizes.
