Hillary Quinn

Beauty and lifestyle writer

Hillary Quinn is a lifestyle writer, whose work has appeared in dozens of national magazines, newspapers, and websites, including Bride’s, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, Self, Good Housekeeping, and Huffington Post. Her specialty—and first love--is beauty writing, but she has covered everything from style, weddings, and relationships, to fitness, parenting, profiles, and much, much more.

From showing readers how they can stand their ground with a bullying boss…to offering clever strategies for teaching a kid to tie their own shoelaces…or finding novel reasons to sing the praises of a pink lipstick…Hillary loves to focus on topics that improve readers’ everyday lives.

Hillary began her career as a college intern at Working Woman magazine, and later joined the staff full-time. She went on to hold key positions at McCall’s, Elle, and eventually Mademoiselle, where Hillary was named Copy and Special Projects Director, responsible for producing and editing all lifestyle/service stories in the magazine. Today, as a freelancer, she writes and edits for a wide variety of clients. She has also worked on long-term editorial projects for drugstore.com, spiegel.com, allrecipes.com, santa.com, and makes frequent television appearances as a media style expert.

A self-admitted passionate—and careful—shopper, Hillary launched her blog, hillarythebargainhunter.com in 2010, a destination in which she routinely invites readers to her behind the scenes shopping sprees—finding steals and deals in fashion, home, and beauty.

She lives with her family in a beautiful waterfront suburb of Seattle that’s only one click away from the other city in her heart…New York.
