Imane Karroumi lives in Tangier, Morocco, a city of about 700,000 in
the north of the country. She participated in the U.S. Department of
State’s Youth Exchange and Study Program during the 2008-2009 academic
year, under the sponsorship of the Council on International
Educational Exchange (CIEE). She lived with her host family in Rhode
Island. She learned about this exchange program from her father, who
had heard about it from friends whose daughters had previously
participated.
