LGBT rights activist, police officer, errant Ph.D.
A founding member of Queer Nation - Atlanta, Jamie Davis is a police officer and LGBT rights activist living in Georgia. He holds a Ph.D. in Romance Languages from the University of Georgia and also works in HIV/AIDS outreach. His viral video "Gay Cop, Gay Marine" garnered early attention at the inception of the "It Gets Better" project, and he has published articles on queer authors Monique Wittig, Jean Cocteau, Manuel Puig, and Jean Genet.
