J.D. Lasica

J.D. Lasica is a social media pioneer, entrepreneur, citizen
journalist and author. He is founder of Socialmedia.biz, a firm that
offers social media training and video services to companies,
nonprofits and organizations worldwide.He was the co-founder and
editorial director of Ourmedia.org, the first video hosting and
sharing site. His book Darknet: Hollywood's War Against the Digital
Generation explored the emerging media landscape.

In a previous life, J.D. was an editor at the Sacramento Bee and
editorial manager of several Silicon Valley startups. He was the first
new media columnist for the American Journalism Review and Online
Journalism Review. CNET named him one of the 100 top media bloggers in
