Senior Program Manager for Nutrition and Health, Hellen Keller International

Jennifer Nielsen, PhD, has served as Helen Keller International’s Senior Program Manager for Nutrition and Health since 2006. She has over 20 years of experience in international development, most of that time working in sub-Saharan Africa or on projects being implemented in that region. Before joining HKI she served overseas with the U.S. Agency for International Development. She earned her doctorate in public health and a master’s degree in international studies from Johns Hopkins University, and her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University. The mission of HKI is to save the sight and lives of the most vulnerable and disadvantaged, focused in particular on combating the causes and consequences of blindness and malnutrition by establishing programs based on evidence and research.
