Born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland to Kenyan parents, Karangu compiled an impressive resume while in college, including interning at CNN, WUSA-TV, and WXSU-LP in Salisbury, Maryland. Additionally, he served as the president of the Maryland Association of Black Journalists (MABJ). He is the founder and former editor-in-chief of Pulsefeedz, a college news and entertainment website and currently writes for Awful Announcing, a sports media blog. He has also accepted a position with media giant TEGNA, where he will be working as a digital content producer.
