Communications Director, Voto Latino

Jimmy A. Hernández is communications director at Voto Latino, a nonprofit, non-partisan organization whose civic engagement campaigns have reached an estimated 55 million Latino households nationwide. In this role, Jimmy oversees Voto Latino’s messaging and media and email operations that advance the organization’s mission to bring new and diverse voices into the political process to promote positive change.

He joined Voto Latino in February 2013 after three years as an assistant vice president of communications at TD Bank. There, Jimmy managed public relations for several of the bank’s business units, including retail operations, human resources and diversity and Hispanic business development.

In 2012 Jimmy appeared in TD Bank’s “Make It Better” employee video supporting the video campaign of the same name to end LGBT youth bullying.

Jimmy holds a Master of Arts degree in mass communications from Howard University in Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor of Arts degree in mass communications from Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach, Fla.
