John Bredin
TV show host, educator, author

I host a weekly TV show on education, the arts, and social change called "Public Voice Salon." Having taught English at troubled high schools in NYC, and at various colleges, the show emerged from my concerns as an educator with the loss of critical, humanistic, and democratic education in America. I also published a dozen books, including "The Magic of Everyday Life," "Spy in the House of Capitalism," and "A New Theory of Fame." Having descended from a famous show business family (my grandmother's "second mother" was the great Belle Epoque actress Blanche Walsh), I am also carrying forward Walsh's dream....in a way....since she opposed the corporatization of art as the original advocate of an American National Theater.
