John Foley is the author of Balanced Brand and the founder and CEO of LEVEL, an advertising and brand firm in Minneapolis. Using the BalancedBrand research model, LEVEL is helping companies align corporate values with stakeholder values to sustain profitability and growth.

Foley has provided strategic brand planning since 1986 for organizations including American Express, American Heart Association, Beckman Coulter, Blue Cross and Blue Shield, 3M, Coca-Cola USA, Cargill, Caterpillar, Fair Isaac, GMAC, Honeywell, Hazelden, KPMG, Lawson Software, Medtronic, Pearson, Tiffany & Co., United Health Group, University of Minnesota and Vital Images.

Beyond consulting, Foley writes for numerous business and trade publications in the areas of branding, advertising and reputation. He frequently guest lectures at The Conference Board, Chief Executive Magazine’s CEO Roundtables, Reputation Institute, Design Institute, and other professional and educational events.

Foley wrote the groundbreaking book Balanced Brand which explores why organizations must align corporate values with stakeholder values to build and protect strong brands and reputations. Balanced Brand was published by Jossey-Bass in 2006.

He has served on the boards of the Carlson Brand Enterprise at the University of Minnesota, the Design Institute and the Reputation Institute.
