Professor and John P Holton Chair, and Director of the Global Health Institute at the University of Wisconsin-Madison

Jonathan Patz, MD, MPH is a Professor and the John P. Holton Chair in Health and the Environment at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he also directs the Global Health Institute, and has faculty appointments in the Nelson Institute and Department of Population Health Sciences. Dr. Patz has worked on the health effects of climate change since 1993. He co-chaired the health report of the first Congressionally mandated U.S. National Assessment on Climate Change and served as Lead Author for the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) for 15 years; the IPCC shared the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007.
