Jones Franzel

Project Director, Generation PRX

As the project director of Generation PRX, Johanna (Jones) Franzel helps youth radio groups share their stories with the world via PRX. Since it launched in 2004, GPRX has grown the catalogue of youth pieces on PRX to nearly 1,700. Bullied is GPRX's eighth curated youth special -- past collaborations with KUOW, NHPR and WBEZ have addressed topics ranging from migration, to parenting and the environment. Franzel is also senior producer for Blunt Youth Radio’s Incarcerated Youth Speak Out Project and regularly teaches and writes on all things youth media-related. Franzel co-founded “Youth Noise Network,” at the Center for Documentary Studies and studied at the Harvard Graduate School of Education and the Salt Institute for Documentary Studies.
