Julie L. Hall is a journalist, memoirist, poet, educational writer, and photographer. She is a contributing writer for The HuffPost and founder of the blog The Narcissist Family Files. Her articles and photographs have appeared in Reuters, The Chicago Sun Times, The Seattle Times, and PsychCentral. For nearly five years she served as Editor of Inside Bainbridge, a leading community news partner of The Seattle Times. Voted among the top five news blogs in Western Washington in 2015, Inside Bainbridge garnered 10 million views. Julie has written numerous nonfiction books for children, including in 2007 A Hot Planet Needs Cool Kids: Understanding Climate Change and What You Can Do About It, endorsed by The PEW Center on Global Climate Change, Bill McKibben, and the National Science Teachers Association. Her award-winning poems have appeared in magazines and journals such as The Nation, The Threepenny Review, and River Styx. As an educational writer and editor, her clients have included McGraw-Hill, Scholastic, and Columbia University. Before launching her freelance career, she served as Writing Director at the educational publishing company Proof Positive and before that as Editorial Director at Rand McNally. She has a BA in English from Northwestern University and an MFA in Writing from Goddard College. She recently completed a psychology book about the narcissistic family and a memoir, both of which are under agent consideration.
