Julie Maida traded a career in addiction counseling/human service management for the opportunity to stay at home with her three children. She soon realized between the teenaged girl, motor-mouthed preschooler, and over-active toddler (who may or may not have been hiding an addiction to amphetamines), it’s wasn't going to be easy. She began writing about her parental mishaps and WTF moments on her blog Next Life, NO Kids. Julie founded the Sober Mommies blog in May of 2013, and turned it into a 501(c)3 charitable organization in Massachusetts where she lives with her patient husband and kids. Julie's writing has been featured on Scary Mommy, Huffington Post, Project Eve, Huffington Post UK, Le Huffington Post, Family Share, BlogHer, and BonBon Break.
