Karl Kovacs

Social Media Program Manager/Digital Strategist

Karl has spent the last 20 years working in information technology. He started programming in basic on a TRS-80 as a young teen. Computers have always been a passion which grew into tinkering with electronics, soldering parts together, eventually building his first computer for a junior high school science fair. Karl started his career in programming, providing computer support, and enhancing features and functionality of office workstations. Eventually Karl found himself designing, deploying and managing large data-centers across Canada.

By day, Karl spends his time working for a Fortune 500 company. By night, he divides his time between testing new gadgets and volunteering for several organizations. He also uses those gadgets to fight crime as a volunteer with the local police force.

“I can never have too many gadgets or spend too much time testing them in their natural environment.”

In the summer-time, you can find Karl out in the Canadian Rockies, mountain biking, trekking, exploring the back country, or climbing mountains. He’s always carrying some gadget that will help make his backpacking trips that much more interesting.
