Kate Snow

Correspondent, Dateline NBC

Kate Snow has been the globe-trotting co-anchor of ABC’s weekend editions of “Good Morning America” and a high-mileage political correspondent since the summer of 2004. She had joined ABC News in July 2003 as White House correspondent after a stint as CNN congressional correspondent.

She had come a long way from her first job as a TV reporter at KOAT-TV in Albuquerque, N.M., a position she landed in the mid-Nineties with considerable help from a local reporter in Atlanta, who helped the then producer at CNN tag along on Sundays to learn the ropes as a reporter.

It was in New Mexico that Ms. Snow began what would become a rich 12-year relationship as a Big Sister and now a member of Big Brothers Little Sisters’ national board.

At ABC News, what has been a casual mentoring program this year will become more structured. Under ABC News President David Westin, about 20 senior-level news personnel will be paired with junior level people with common professional interests. The participants will get training in establishing goals for the mentoring relationship.

Ms. Snow is married and the mother of two young children.
