Kelly Campbell is a founding member of September Eleventh Families for Peaceful Tomorrows, an organization of family members of 9/11 victims united to turn their grief into action for peace and justice. In January 2002, she traveled to Kabul, Afghanistan to meet with families who lost loved ones in the US military campaign and returned to the US to advocate for their needs and educate people about civilian casualties of the war. Kelly is the Portland Area Peace Director for the American Friends Service Committee, and is on the coordinating committee of the Portland-based coalition PDX Peace.
