Kenneth Kraft, professor emeritus of Buddhist studies at Lehigh University, is a scholar of Japanese Zen and socially engaged Buddhism. His books include "Eloquent Zen: Daito and Early Japanese Zen," which examines the transmission of Zen from China to Japan in the thirteenth century; and "Zen: Tradition and Transition," a collaboration by present-day Zen teachers and scholars. His B.A. is from Harvard, his Ph.D. from Princeton.
