Kristal Maner-Smith

Analytical chemist specializing in lipodomics

Kristal Maner-Smith got her Ph.D. in analytical chemistry from Cornell University and has been working in the field of lipidomics for over 10 years. Currently, she is studying a lipid-binding protein at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Her research is focused on the role of lipids in the onset of metabolic diseases. Kristal has been a keynote speaker at her alma mater, Howard University, as well as a tutor and mentor with the hope of making science appealing and accessible to young girls. She has appeared on TLC’s Say Yes to the Dress.
