Lauren Maddox, a principal at Podesta Group, served as an assistant secretary at the Department of Education from September 2006 to November 2008. She was also a senior advisor to the House Majority Leadership, including former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and former Republican Conference Chairman J.C. Watts, Jr. She also served as a senior strategist for two national health care trade associations. Maddox is a Trustee of the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation and serves on the board of the American Action Forum, a public policy institute, and on the DC Advisory Board of Education Pioneers, a nonprofit dedicated to transforming our education system by fostering new leaders.
