Linda Darling-Hammond

President, Learning Policy Institute

Linda Darling-Hammond is President of the Learning Policy Institute (LPI), a nonpartisan education organization that conducts and communicates high-quality research to inform policy that promotes equitable and empowering learning. Darling-Hammond is also Charles E. Ducommun Professor Emeritus at Stanford University where she launched the Stanford Center for Opportunity Policy in Education and served as faculty sponsor of the Stanford Teacher Education Program, which she helped to redesign. She works with school, district, state, and federal leaders on a wide range of education policy matters and served as the director of President Obama's education policy transition team in 2008.
