Lisa Schechtman is the Director of Policy and Advocacy at WaterAid America, the world’s largest international non-profit exclusively dedicated to helping the world’s poorest people gain long-term access to safe drinking water, toilets and effective hygiene education.

Lisa has been an advocate for the right to health and safety for more than 10 years, with a special focus on lifting the barriers often faced by women, girls and marginalized or vulnerable communities. She is also a member of Amnesty International USA’s Women’s Human Rights Coordination Group, and is a Trustee of the Washington Heights CORNER Project.
