Lise Schleicher

I'm multi-faceted and write that way: Owner of 79Gifts.com, Volunteer, Wife, Mom. I have Crohn's & Clinical Depression. Dozens of hobbies.

Lise Schleicher has owned BasketWorks, a home-based gift basket business on Chicago's North Shore, since 1997. Before opening BasketWorks, Lise earned a BS in Business Administration and a MA in Labor & Industrial Relations. She spent several years working in floral design, corporate human resources and retail management before catching the entrepreneurial bug and striking out on her own. With her education background, employment background, and business ownership, Lise is knowledgeable about all aspects of business, from marketing to design to long term planning.

Lise is active in her two Chambers of Commerce, sits on the Executive Board at her synagogue and supports the many activities her 2 teenage sons and (very patient) husband. In her down (!) time, Lise enjoys reading, designing cross-stitch, crocheting, stamp collecting, and square dancing. As a person living with Crohns’ Disease and clinical depression she is always open supporting others living with this chronic disease and sharing her experience with anyone who would like more information.

Lise's work has received awards including 1st place for Executive Design, 2nd place in the First Annual Idea Café “Mom Grant” and being named to Gift Basket Review’s Top 50 Gift Basket Companies twice. She has been featured in the Chicago Tribune, on WBBM radio, and in the Gift Basket Design Book.
