Dr. Loren Schechter's outstanding surgical skills, welcoming bedside manner, and extensive experience have not only earned him recognition from his professional peers, but they have also made him a popular choice for patients seeking a safe, rewarding cosmetic surgery experience. He is committed to achieving the most beautiful and natural results by combining technical excellence, artistic skill, and meticulous attention to detail.

Dr. Schechter is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American College of Surgeons, the American Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgery, the Midwest Association of Plastic Surgeons, the Chicago Society of Plastic Surgery, and the Chicago Surgical Society. He also serves on the Committee on Jewish Genetic Diseases and Cancer Genetics Subcommittee for the Jewish United Fund.

After receiving his undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan and medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, Dr. Schechter completed his residency in general surgery and plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Chicago Hospitals. He also completed a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at the University of Chicago, where he currently holds an associate teaching position.

Academic honors include doctor of medicine with honors, member of the Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society, recipient of the University of Chicago department of surgery award for outstanding performance in the field of surgery, and the University of Chicago National Institutes of Health research award.
