Humane Handling Enforcement Coordinator, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service

Dr. Lucy Anthenill joined the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) in 2010. She was promoted from a relief Public Health Veterinarian to a District Veterinary Medical Specialists before her appointment as the Humane Handling Enforcement Coordinator (HHEC) in 2013. Dr. Anthenill oversees enforcement activities at slaughter establishments nationwide.

Dr. Anthenill received her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from UC Davis in 1997, after completing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art/Commercial Art from Cal State Fullerton. She worked as a clinical veterinarian in private practice, and completed a residency in Veterinary Pathology at the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory system, San Bernardino, CA. In 2009, Dr. Anthenill returned to UC Davis for a PhD in Comparative Pathology.
