Luis Carlos Montalván and Tyler Boudreau

Former Army Capt. Luis Carlos Montalván served two tours in Iraq
leading cavalry elements and advisory teams. He contributed to the 3d
ACR's success in 'Operation Restoring Rights' in Tall Afar in 2005 and
served as a participant in AEI's Iraq Planning Group in 2007. His
published work has been featured in The NY Times, The Washington Post,
The San Francisco Chronicle, The Baltimore Sun, The Military Times,
NPR, and Abu Dhabi among other media outlets. Luis is presently
working on dual Master's degrees in Journalism and Strategic
Communications at Columbia University in NYC and is a member of the
Council for Emerging National Security Affairs (CENSA). Luis is
recovering from wounds sustained in combat and is co-founder of the
new humanitarian organization, Iraq Veterans' Refugee Aid Association
(IVRAA - http://www.firstgiving.com/iraqveteransrefugeeaidassociation).

Former Marine Capt. Tyler Boudreau, who grew up in the Boston area and
now lives in Northampton, MA, served 12 years in the Marines and one
tour in Iraq. He enlisted in the Marines out of high school and
eventually entered officer training. During his tour in Iraq, in
2004, Boudreau served in the Baghdad area and in Anbar Province. He
was honorably discharged from the Marines in 2005. A memoir he wrote
about his war experience, "Packing Inferno," has drawn advance praise
from a variety of writers and commentators on military and
international affairs, and it will be published this fall. Boudreau
is also co-founder of the new humanitarian organization, IVRAA
.
