Marc Solomon, the national campaign director for Freedom to Marry, has been at the forefront of the marriage movement. As the executive director of MassEquality from 2005 to 2008, Solomon led the campaign to defeat two discriminatory constitutional amendments in the first freedom-to-marry state in the nation. Following the victory in Massachusetts, Solomon served as Marriage Director for Equality California, where he led the largest state effort in movement history to make the case for marriage equality through face-to-face conversations. He is the author of Winning Marriage: The Inside Story of How Same-Sex Couples Took on the Politicians and Pundits -- and Won (2014).
