Maria Di Scala

Feminist, teacher and writer

Maria Di Scala is a proud feminist who teaches Social Studies at Villa Maria, a private girls’ school in Montreal. Having studied school-based eating disorder prevention for her MEd in Educational Psychology, she is currently implementing an eating disorder prevention program at her school, as well as a senior women’s studies course. Born with a fiery passion for women’s issues and a desire to improve the situation for girls and women, she is an advocate for the mandatory incorporation of women's and gender studies, and wellness programs in the high school curriculum. Maria loves writing, reading, spinning, and travelling - including her inward travels along the path of mindfulness and self-compassion.
