Mark Farr

President and CEO, The Faith and Politics Institute

Mark Farr is President & CEO of The Faith & Politics Institute. He has more than 25 years’ experience in political and civic public service both in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Prior to Faith & Politics, Mark was Senior Faith Director at The Points of Light Institute, founded by President George H. W. Bush. Mark oversaw Faith Day at its National Conference, the largest of its kind in the world. He has led trainings, individual reflection sessions and spoken both across the United States and globally.

Prior to his work at Points of Light, Mark was Senior National Director at General Colin Powell’s America’s Promise, founded The Institute for Faith & Service, and worked at Sojourners with Jim Wallis.

Mark is an Episcopalian priest, is a qualified systemic psychotherapist, with a former practice in London. Mark has served as Board Vice-Chair of Service for Peace, Senior Partner of Interfaith Works, and as past President of the Institute for Progressive Christianity. He is a keen painter and was chair of the Wimbledon Arts Festival in the UK.

Mark lives in Silver Spring MD, and is married to Laura. They have two daughters, Sadie and Sienna.
