Mark Held of MARK’S GARDEN® is well known for creating innovative and trend-setting floral décor for some of Los Angeles’ most prestigious events and for some of the country’s most high profile personalities. He is the exclusive florist of the Academy Awards® Governors Ball. He published his first book, Fabulous Parties, co-written with partner Richard David and Pasadena caterer Peggy Dark of The Kitchen, which was a major success and recently went into a second printing. The book features a dazzling collection of floral designs and gourmet recipes offering readers advice on how to create their own stylish celebrations.

Held designed the floral decor for the high-profile weddings of Nicole Richie and Joel Madden; Hilary Duff and Mike Comrie, pop star Fergie and Josh Duhamel, Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi, and Heidi Klum and Seal, to name a few. With many reality stars tying the knot in front of television cameras, Held devised the dramatic floral settings for the nuptials of both Kim and Khloe Kardashian, whose wedding specials aired on E! Entertainment Television. A favorite of Oprah Winfrey’s, she invited MARK’S GARDEN® to design the floral décor for her 50th Birthday Party which she celebrated in Los Angeles. Additionally, Held put together the lavish arrangements for Oprah’s televised Fantasy Wedding special. Held’s wedding floral designs are so innovative that Modern Bride magazine selected him as a “Wedding Trendsetter.” Held was just featured in People Magazine’s “Great Ideas” section offering readers his expertise on how to create stylish holiday arrangements.

Held has also designed floral décor for The Emmy Awards, The Golden Globes, and numerous events at the Los Angeles County Art Museum and MOCA in addition to season openings for the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Los Angeles Opera.
